Blackberry roller ball not working

I have a Blackberry phone, not sure of the exact model.  It has one of those navigational balls, I think it’s called a trackball.  Anyway this ball still rolls up and down but not right to left.  Is this something I can get fixed reasonably or do I have to buy a new cell phone?

    This is a very common problem with the Blackberry smart phones which have the trackball as the main navigation function. Fortunately these days it is an inexpensive repair and you can either do it yourself or have it professionally done.

    Most places refer to this part as the trackball and most Blackberry trackballs are compatible with a variety of models. There are different quality versions of the Blackberry trackball so if someone is offering you a trackball for a couple of bucks be sure that you will get the cheapest quality out there and will have to repair it again very soon.

    I have found several sites which sell the Blackberry track ball at reasonable prices and they are top notch quality.
